From the Chief

For over 46 years, Big Sur Fire has had a proud history of serving and protecting our community. Big Sur Fire’s Mission is to provide dependable fire protection and emergency services for Big Sur with a spirit of teamwork, respect and integrity. These words summarize what we do, but it is the men and women of this organization that really make the difference - they exemplify these words on a daily basis.

That spirit of service continues as we move forward, navigating challenging and uncertain times. While our current responsibilities have expanded considerably from the initial mission of fire suppression in 1974, Big Sur Fire is continually searching for ways to improve our services, promote efficiency, and increase community and firefighter safety through professional development, public education and fire prevention.

I am routinely impressed by the compassion, dedication and resourcefulness of our firefighters and their commitment to the residents, businesses, and visitors alike. It is an absolute honor to serve with these men and women and to be able to represent such a fine organization.
